IranAir (IR, Tehran Mehrabad) has taken ownership of its maiden A330-200 following the handing over of EP-IJA (msn 1540) at Toulouse Blagnac on Friday, March 10.

According to the IRNA news agency, the aircraft will be positioned from Toulouse Blagnac to Tehran Mehrabad on Saturday, March 11, with a second due by month-end.

The widebody jet aircraft is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 772-B60s and features thirty-two seats in Business Class and 206 in Economy Class. It will initially be deployed on Iran Air's European network as well as on flights to Beijing Capital and Kuala Lumpur International.

Iran Air has a total of forty-five A330 Family aircraft on order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) including twenty-eight A330-900s and eight A330-200s.
