Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International) has announced it has converted ten of its twenty-five B737-8 order slots to the MAX 10 variant. Deliveries are expected beyond 2020.
Speaking during a press conference at the 2017 Paris Air Show, airline CEO Peter Bellew said the aircraft would be configured with sixteen lie-flat business class seats to cater to secondary and tertiary markets in China.
"We are very excited to announce our conversion of some of our B737 MAX 8s to B737 MAX 10s," he said. "As competition and our business continue to grow, the superior efficiency and additional capacity of the B737 MAX 10 will allow us to keep differentiating ourselves and offer the best all-inclusive business and economy fares to our loyal passengers."
Malaysia Airlines currently operates fifty-four B737-800s - its only remaining Boeing passenger aircraft - on scheduled passenger flights across Malaysia as well as to China, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nepal, Singapore, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Brunei, and Australia.
