Flair Airlines (F8, Kelowna) has announced it will start scheduled international flights on November 9, 2018, connecting its main hub Edmonton International with Las Vegas Harry Reid. As of mid-December, the Canadian ULCC will add a further ten routes to the United States.
According to an airline statement, the December expansion will include services out of Edmonton to each of Phoenix Williams Gateway, Palm Springs International, Orlando International, and Miami International; out of Winnipeg International to each of Las Vegas, Phoenix, Orlando, St. Petersburg/Clearwater, and Miami; as well as out of Toronto Pearson to Miami.
With the announced routes Flair is set to become Phoenix Williams's third international operator following WestJet (WS, Calgary) and Swoop. St.Petersburg/Clearwater has minimal international connectivity with Bahamasair serving Nassau International.
Most of Flair Airlines' flights to the US will be operated with B737-400s, of which the carrier currently operates seven.
Flair Airlines, traditionally a charter specialist turned scheduled low-cost carrier last year, currently operates exclusively within Canada. It initially planned to launch trans-border services to the United States in the second quarter of 2018. Domestic ULCC competitor, Swoop (Hamilton, ON), is set to launch international services on October 11.
