Deccan Charters (Bengaluru International) could reportedly be turned into a scheduled low-cost carrier by Air Deccan (2003) (Bengaluru International) founder Capt. Gopinath by the end of the year when his non competition clause in a contract with Kingfisher Airlines (Mumbai International) expires. Gopinath had agreed not to compete with a scheduled passenger carrier in India as part of a deal to sell his shares in Air Deccan (2003) (Bengaluru International) to Kingfisher in 2007.
