Mas Air (México City International) is set to diversify its fleet further, having signed a commitment for two A330-300(P2F)s on dry lease from CDB Aviation just weeks after it signed for two A330-200(P2F)s from Altavair.
"The A330-300P2Fs from CDB Aviation will provide bigger capacity and efficiency, marking the continued process of MasAir on becoming a global player in the air cargo arena. Adding these two A330s to the two A330-200s we agreed to lease last month, we continue the path of growing our fleet with more efficient and longer-range aircraft," Chief Executive Luis Sierra said.
The two -300(P2F)s are due to deliver in the first half of 2022 and will be converted by EFW - Elbeflugzeugwerke, a joint venture between Airbus and ST Engineering.
The P2F contracts were initially awarded by CDB Aviation to EFW in November 2020 without an assigned customer. They will become the first dedicated freighters, either converted or new-built, in the lessor's portfolio. CDB Aviation owns twenty-six A330-300s, the ch-aviation fleets ownership module shows.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that the Mexican cargo specialist, owned by LATAM Airlines Group until 2018 and then known as LATAM Cargo Mexico, currently operates one B767-200(SF), one B767-300ER(BDSF), and one B767-300F on routes in Latin America and to the United States, as well as occasionally to Frankfurt International.
