MENA Cargo Airlines (Bahrain International) is seeking two or three B737 freighters for urgent dry lease or acquisition and has issued a Request for Proposals targeted at airlines and lessors.
The Bahraini carrier prefers to add B737-800(BCF)s in the highest maximum take-off weight configuration. However, Accountable Manager Brian Hogan said the airline would also consider taking B737-300(F)s, B737-400(F)s, or B737-700(BDSF)s as an interim solution. MENA Cargo Airlines disclosed its plans to add B737NG freighters earlier this month.
The carrier did not disclose any other requirements publicly but said it was only open to offers from owners, brokers with actual mandates, or aircraft operators.
Hogan added that in the next stage, MENA Cargo Airlines would seek to add widebody freighters.
The airline obtained a new Air Operator's Certificate based on the certificate of MAE Aircraft Management in October 2021 and currently operates a single B737-300(F), A9C-MAE (msn 27710).
