easyJet (London Luton) has entered into a sale and leaseback transaction for ten A319-100s with Aergo Capital.
All ten aircraft are 2008 builds. The ch-aviation fleets module shows that six of them are currently operated by easyJet Europe (EC, Vienna) and four by easyJet UK (U2, London Luton). It is the first leasing deal between Aergo Capital and easyJet.
The holding operates ninety-nine A319-100s across its three Air Operator's Certificates, including easyJet Switzerland (DS, Geneva). All 2008-build aircraft or older are now leased, while the remaining 44 younger aircraft remain largely owned by easyJet or easyJet Leasing except for eight leased units, the ch-aviation fleets ownership module indicates.
The LCC's chief financial officer, Kenton Jarvis, said the airline would "continue to utilise sale and leasebacks for the A319 type while we transition these aircraft from the fleet and introduce newer technology Airbus A320neo family aircraft".
easyJet group's A320neo fleet comprises forty-one A320-200Ns and fifteen A321-200NXs. The holding also continues to operate 167 A320-200s.
