Freedom'Air (Pointe à Pitre) is planning to make use of the void that will be left by Air Caraibes (TX, Pointe à Pitre) when the latter stops operating its single E190 F-OSUD on regional routes on September 9. The EMB-190 is already being offered to potential new operators. Air Caraïbes currently operates the EMB-190 from Fort de France and Pointe à Pitre to Belém International, Cayenne, Havana International, Port au Prince and Santo Domingo Las Américas. Port au Prince and Santo Domingo will continue to be served with ATR 72-500s. A group of Air Caraïbes pilots is now however planning to set-up Freedom'Air in cooperation with local investors to retain jet flights to these and other destinations with a fleet of two B737-500s.
