LEAV Aviation (KK, Cologne/Bonn) completed its AOC certification drive with the Federal Aviation Authority (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt - LBA) on May 4, 2022.
The ACMI/charter specialist start-up currently operates a single A320-200, D-ANDI (msn 3674) - which has been parked at Cologne/Bonn airport since the conclusion of proving flights in late February 2022, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.
Managing Director Daniel Broda, a former easyJet pilot, told German travel industry publication FVW that LEAV Aviation would initially focus on customers outside of Germany. He revealed that the start-up employs around 40 staff, mostly with experience from other airlines, but did not disclose any further details about LEAV's business plans.
LEAV Aviation was originally known as JOOT Aviation. It took its first aircraft and began certification in early 2021.
