avianca cargo (QT, Medellín José Maria Córdova) is planning to add between two and four A330-300(P2F)s, its first converted freighters, with the first two units now due from CDB Aviation.
"We are pleased to announce the arrival of these aircraft to our cargo fleet. With their incorporation, we will not only offer greater capacity, but also an increasingly robust and flexible route network focused on the needs of our customers and facilitating trade between Latin America and the entire world," Chief Executive Gabriel Oliva said.
The Colombian carrier said the freighters would deliver over the next two years, with the first unit due by the end of 2022. It did not identify the aircraft.
Avianca Cargo does not currently operate any aircraft in-house. Its six production A330-200Fs, all of which are leased from Castlelake, are placed on the AOC of Colombian subsidiary TAMPA Cargo (Medellín José Maria Córdova), while Mexican subsidiary AeroUnion (6R, México City International) operates two A300-600Fs on behalf of the holding. Avianca Cargo recently announced plans to wet-lease up to five A321-200(P2F)s from GlobalX (G6, Miami International).
The agreement with CDB Aviation also covers one incremental A320-200N for avianca airlines (AV, Bogotá).
