China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) plans to list its wholly-owned subsidiary China Southern Air Logistics Company Limited on a mainland China stock exchange. The logistics entity was established in 2018 and provides air cargo logistics services including warehousing, supply chain management, and e-commerce tools in addition to air cargo flights.
"The listing of (the) logistics company is still in its early preparation stage," China Southern Airlines said in a November 30 filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX). "As of the date of this announcement, (the) logistics company has not submitted any official application for listing to any relevant regulatory authorities in the PRC."
China Southern Airlines operates eleven B777-200Fs from its Guangzhou base. China Southern Air Cargo (CZ, Guangzhou) also flies three B777-200Fs. ReportLinker's recently released analysis, Global Air Cargo Market 2023-2027, says that the global air cargo market is set to grow by 19.52 million tonnes over the next five years with a compound annual growth rate of 5.32%. It names China Southern Airlines as one of the leading air cargo market vendors.
The partially state-owned multinational investment management and financial services entity China International Capital Corporation Limited will act as the tutoring institution in relation to the listing. China Southern also notes that any listing is subject to approvals from the relevant authorities.
