Condor (DE, Frankfurt International) took delivery of the first of its sixteen firm-ordered A330-900s on December 19, 2022.

D-ANRA (msn 1966) was delivered from Toulouse Blagnac to Frankfurt International and remains parked at the German gateway, awaiting induction into service. The ch-aviation schedules module shows the type will make its debut on December 27, 2022, deploying to Mauritius. The day after, it will be introduced on the Malé route. In early 2023, Condor plans to start using the -900 on services to Punta Cana (starting on January 16), Varadero (January 20), and Seattle Tacoma International (February 13).

The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Condor has seven A330-900s on a order from Airbus with the other nine to be sourced from lessors. The aircraft will replace a fleet of nine remaining B767-300ERs, which are 28.7 years old on average. Condor also operates four A330-200s, which were added earlier this year as a bridge to the A330-900 on an interim basis. While they are expected to also be retired as the -900s deliver, Condor did not respond to ch-aviation's query about the rollover's timing. The airline also wet-leases two A330-300s from SmartLynx Airlines Malta (2N, Malta International).

All sixteen A330-900s are scheduled to deliver by mid-2024.

The A330-900s were originally set to arrive more than a month earlier. The carrier hoped to have the first unit in service by mid-November 2022.
