West Atlantic Sweden (T2, Malmö) has retired its last BAe ATP(F). The Swedish cargo specialist was the last European airline and one of only three remaining in the world to operate the type.
SE-LGZ (msn 2021) operated its last revenue flight from Jönköping to Oslo Gardermoen during the night of February 24, 2023. It was then ferried to Malmö, where it remains parked for the time being. The 33.1-year-old aircraft was the last of forty-one BAe ATP(F)s operated by West Atlantic Sweden, although the type's fleet never exceeded 32 units in service at the same time, according to the ch-aviation fleets history module.
Although West Atlantic Sweden began the gradual phase-out of the type in 2016, it still had three active units in its fleet in early 2023.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that the only two remaining operators of the type in the world are AeroSpace Consortium (AKQ, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) and Deraya Air Taxi (DRY, Jakarta Halim). Each operate two BAe ATP(F)s. ch-aviation understands that some of the ex-West Atlantic Sweden BAe ATP(F)s have been sold to a new carrier, while most will be parted out.
There are no more passenger BAe ATPs left in service.
