SKY Express (Greece) (GQ, Irakleion) has taken delivery of its first A321-200N, executing its "cautious growth" strategy which saw it expand into narrowbody operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
VP-CUN (msn 8014) was ferried from Manchester International to Athens on March 29, 2023, and - as previously reported - enter revenue service between Athens and Thira Santorini as SX-GRA on April 1, 2023. The 4.9-year-old jet is leased from Aviation Capital Group and was previously operated by defunct Interjet. The other A321-200NX due to join SKY Express's fleet, N575CG (msn 8575), remains in maintenance at Manchester airport.
The Greek carrier historically focused on domestic turboprop operations but expanded into the A320 Family starting in 2020. It currently operates eight A320-200Ns and a single A320-200. The ch-aviation fleets module shows it continues to ply four ATR42-500s, two ATR72-500s, and six ATR72-600s.
