LATAM Airlines Group has sold two of its B767-300Fs and is in talks to sell a third, but will nonetheless grow its freighter fleet with more P2F-converted B767s due this year and in 2024.
"The group is carrying out an expansion plan by converting B767-300ER passenger aircraft into cargo freighters. As of the publication date, nine freighters have already been converted, with the remaining four conversions to take place in 2023 and 2024," the holding said in its quarterly earnings release.
The two sold aircraft have not yet been handed over to their new owner.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows LATAM's cargo fleet currently includes nine B767-300ER(BCF)s and nine production B767-300Fs operated across its three cargo AOCs: LATAM Cargo Brasil, LATAM Cargo Chile, and LATAM Cargo Colombia. Seventeen aircraft are owned by the holding, with one B767-300F leased from AerCap/GECAS. Two B767-300Fs, CC-CZZ (msn 25756) and N534LA (msn 32572), have been parked at Abu Dhabi International and Miami International since February 2023, although the carrier did not confirm if these are the two units that were sold.
LATAM plans to operate 19 dedicated freighters by the end of 2024.
