Air Algérie (AH, Algiers) has announced the failure of an international tender for the dry-lease of up to ten aircraft - including six A330 widebodies and four B737 narrowbodies - citing as reason that bids received had not conformed with the required specifications.
The airline said in a statement: "Air Algérie hereby informs all bidders who responded to international consultation N°:01/AH-DG/2023 concerning the operational lease of up to ten aircraft in a dry-lease arrangement that, at the end of the evaluation process, the international consultation was declared unsuccessful for non-conformity of the bids with the requirements of the specifications."
The Request for Proposals (RFP) (01:AH-DG/2023) had been as follows:
- Widebodies: four A330-200s or A330-300s with General Electric engines and two A330-900Ns;
- Narrowbodies: two B737-800s and two B737-9 MAX.
The tender was intended for only registered owners, operators, leasing companies and aircraft manufacturers. The deadline of May 22 was extended to May 29, 2023.
In addition, Air Algérie also announced its attempt to wet-lease a 250-350-seater widebody - A330, B777 or B787 - for the 2023 summer had also been unsuccessful. The aircraft was sought for the period June 15 to September 9, 2023, to operate charters and regular schedules between Paris, France and Algiers.
