ASKY Airlines (KP, Lomé) took delivery of its first B737-8 on lease from AerCap on August 22, 2023.
ET-BAR (msn 60705) was ferried after pre-delivery maintenance at Addis Ababa International directly to Lomé under the 'ET' code of ASKY Airlines' shareholder, Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa International). The 4.9-year-old jet was delivered to China's Okay Airways (BK, Tianjin) in 2018 but returned by the airline during the type's global grounding. It has yet to enter into revenue operations. The majority of ASKY's fleet, except for a single B737-800 on the Togolese register, is on the Ethiopian register.
ASKY Airlines awaits the delivery of sistership VP-CZS (msn 60704), also ex-Okay Airways, which remains in maintenance at Addis Ababa airport. It is expected in the coming weeks.
The airline's first MAX 8 joins the fleet of four B737-700s and ten -800s, the ch-aviation fleets module shows. The carrier has yet to file schedules for the newest type.
