Southern Air (Cincinnati International) and its parent Southen Air Holdings have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with a US district court in Delaware on Friday, September 28 because of financial difficulties causing cash shortages. Its main customers include the US government, Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa International), Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International) and logistics provider DHL. Southern Air operates three B747-200(F)s, four B747-400(F)s and four B777-Fs.
