Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) has disclosed an order for four incremental A330-900s, placed in June 2023, as it progresses towards the consolidation of its long-haul fleet around the type.
"With the five A330neo we currently operate and the seven we now have on order, we will standardise our international fleet, allowing us to further enhance Azul's renowned customer experience and on-time performance," Chief Financial Officer Alexandre Malfitani said.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Azul took its five active A330-900s between 2019 and 2022, all of them on lease from Avolon. It ordered three more directly from Airbus in November 2022. The airline did not disclose any delivery dates for any of the seven further A330neo.
The aircraft will replace the carrier's four remaining A330-200s and two A350-900s. The latter are due to be retired after a very brief spell in the airline's fleet.
