Azores Airlines (S4, Ponta Delgada) inducted its first A320-200N into revenue service on January 24, deploying CS-TSK (msn 11664) out of Ponta Delgada to Lisbon.
The aircraft has since operated exclusively on the route connecting the Portuguese capital with the Azores. Although the airline took delivery of the aircraft on lease from Air Lease Corporation in November 2023, the deployment was delayed by the necessary certification procedures. Its induction allowed the carrier to return a A320-200 wet-leased from White on January 22, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.
Azores Airlines plans to add a second A320neo during the first quarter of 2024, followed by its first A321-200NY(XLR) in 2025. It already operates two A321-200Ns and three A321-200NX(LR)s. The two A320neo will replace the carrier's current in-house fleet of three A320-200s.
