Marabu (DI, Tallinn Lennart Meri) has signed a seasonal ACMI contract with Lithuania's KlasJet (KLJ, Vilnius) to add two wet-leased B737-800s to its fleet.
LY-LOC (msn 33980) has been operating for Marabu since March 15, 2024, and is currently based out of Hamburg Helmut Schmidt, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. It will be joined by another aircraft by the end of April. Both will be based out of Munich for the peak summer season, extending through November 2024.
"The transition from spontaneous agreements to a long-term partnership with KlasJet reflects our confidence in their ability to meet our needs and exceed expectations," Marabu chief executive Axel Schefe said.
The Estonian leisure specialist, a sister carrier of Condor, operates an in-house fleet of four A320-200Ns. It currently also wet-leases three A320-200s from European Air Charter. Schefe told ch-aviation in a recent interview that the airline would target around five wet-leased aircraft for each summer season to provide more seasonal flexibility on top of its growing in-house fleet.
