Bikini Jet (Istanbul Atatürk) has set up a new brand, BKNJET, using the Air Operator's Certificate of TAV Air (Istanbul Atatürk).
"Bikini Jet has successfully registered its new brand BKNJET on the TAV Air AOC with Turkish CAA approval number 50," Managing Director Orkun Cetinkaya said.
Turkish civil aviation authority (Sivil Havacılık Genel Müdürlüğü - SHGM) records show the air taxi's AOC #50 was changed to BKNJET. As a result, TAV Air no longer holds an AOC under its own name.
Bikini Jet has thus far operated as an aircraft management and charter broker without its own AOC. TAV Air, in turn, operates one Legacy 650, one Bombardier Global 5000, one Bombardier Global Express XRS, and one Cessna Citation Latitude.
Neither company responded to ch-aviation's request for comment regarding whether TAV Air will remain an independent company.
