Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has announced a new order for four Boeing B777-Fs, which will expand its cargo fleet and enhance its operational capabilities.

While no delivery dates were provided, with this order Turkish Airlines will increase its freighter fleet to 22 inhouse aircraft, currently composed of ten A330-200Fs and eight B777-200Fs, the ch-aviation fleets module shows. It also wet-leases three A310-300(F)s from ULS Airlines Cargo, two A330-200Fs from CMA CGM Air Cargo, and one B747-400(BDSF) from AirACT.

The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Boeing has fifty-six B777-Fs on order, the customers being FedEx Express, China Southern Airlines, Emirates, Lufthansa Cargo, Ethiopian Airlines, Air China Cargo, China Airlines, Atlas Air, DHL Air, CMA CGM Air Cargo, Silk Way West Airlines, AlisCargo, Maersk Air Cargo, and Western Global Airlines.

Last year, Turkish Airlines said it was planning to harmonise its dedicated freighter fleet around the B777-200F type and double its cargo capacity by 2033. The airline is targeting new aircraft orders, including potential P2F conversions.

ch-aviation has reached out to Turkish Airlines for comment on the delivery dates of the four new freighters and future plans for its cargo fleet.
