Argentina’s civil aviation authority (Agencia Nacional de Aviación Civil - ANAC) has suspended the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) of 2000 Aerosistema (San Fernando, AR) until a complete audit is done, following several safety mishaps.

In a resolution published in the country’s official gazette, ANAC said 2000 Aerosistema had been found to be "carrying out the transportation of dangerous goods (explosives) without having the proper specific approval.” Moreover, it previously had a history of serious breaches that had impacted operational safety, the regulator added.

ANAC pointed out that these findings indicate a progressive deterioration in operational safety and an unacceptable risk to the company’s personnel, the aeronautical community, and third-party owners, “which is why it merits the adoption of urgent measures to improve the safety of its air operations.”

ch-aviation has reached out to 2000 Aerosistema for comment.

ANAC has suspended the AOC until it can carry out a complete audit of the company, including a review of its Operating Specifications (parts D and E) and a physical inspection of one of the carrier’s aircraft, a Metroliner Metroliner, LV-VDJ (msn AC-729), which last operated on June 7, 2024, flying from San Fernando, AR to Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery, ADS-B data shows. Until the inspection takes place and its airworthiness condition is verified, LV-VDJ will be grounded.

According to its website and Argentina's aircraft registry, 2000 Aerosistema is a private charter company with a fleet of six aircraft, including three Learjet 35s, two Swearingen Metroliner IIIs, and one Metroliner II.
