Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has entered into a new agreement to dry-lease ten A321-200neo from AerCap, the lessor announced in a statement.
The airframes will allow Turkish Airlines to support its ongoing network expansion plans and increase the frequency of existing routes. However, neither company announced when the deliveries would begin.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that the Turkish Airlines fleet comprises 430 aircraft, including fifty-eight A321-200NX. AerCap leases 41 planes to the company, including one A321-200NX, six A330-200s, twenty-five B737-8s, three B737-800s, three B777-300ERs, and three B787-9s.
ch-aviation has reached out to Turkish Airlines for comment on whether these planes will be used by the company or subleased to low-cost subsidiary AJet (VF, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen), which currently operates 76 aircraft, including thirteen A321-200NX wet-leased from its parent.
AerCap has 237 aircraft on order, including fifty-seven A321-200Ns.
