Everts Air Alaska (5V, Fairbanks International) has taken delivery of the first-ever SkyCourier 408F equipped with Combi interior conversion option, manufacturer Textron Aviation announced.
N418RE (msn 408-0029) was ferried from Wichita Beech Factory to Everts' Fairbanks base between June 27 and June 29, with stops at Billings, Walla Walla, Seattle Boeing Field, and Petersburg James A. Johnson, ADS-B data shows. As of July 11, it remains formally registered to the manufacturer and has yet to enter into revenue service, according to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) registry.
Last year, the company ordered three SkyCourier 408F turboprops, and received the first, N408RE (msn 408-0022), on September 30, ch-aviation reported at the time.
While N408RE is a standard freighter turboprop, N418RE is the first to be delivered with the Combi reconfiguration option, for which Textron was granted certification by the FAA in May 2024.
The Combi option gives more flexibility to the 19-seat passenger variant by allowing operators to modify the C408's interior to accommodate passengers and cargo at the same time. Meanwhile, Everts Air owner Robert W Everts said he believes the Cessna SkyCourier is the "next generation aircraft for Bush Alaska", and the Combi variant allows flexibility to serve the needs of remote communities.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows Everts Air Alaska currently operates a fleet of 24 aircraft, including - besides the SkyCouriers - one B727-200(F), three BAe 146-300(QT)s, eight DC-6s, three DC-9-30(F)s, one MD-82(SF), five MD-83(SF)s, and one MD-88(SF).
