Democratic Republic of Congo charter start-up Naweza Airways (Kinshasa N'Djili) has taken delivery of its first aircraft, a Cessna Aircraft Company 550 Citation Bravo business jet, according to ch-aviation research.
ADS-B data shows 9S-PFJ (msn 550-1092) is currently parked at Kinshasa N'Djili following its arrival on June 30 from Belgrade Nikola Tesla in Serbia via Tozeur in Tunisia. ch-aviation research shows the seven-passenger jet, until recently, was operated by defunct Serbian charter specialist Air Pink (Belgrade Nikola Tesla) as YU-SEX and Belgrade's Air Posh (Belgrade Nikola Tesla) as YU-SXX.
In 2019, the jet was marketed by US broker jetAVIVA, at the time registered as N92VR. The company confirmed it had sold the jet in 2020. According to jetAVIVA information, the aircraft was refurbished in 2015 with a white leather and dark gloss wood interior featuring WiFi internet and a refreshment centre, amongst other details. The flight deck features Honeywell Primus 1000 and Honeywell NS-20000 FMS avionics. With an airframe built in 2004, the aircraft's previous registrations also include CS-DHL and N52645, ch-aviation found.
ch-aviation has reached out to both brokers for more information.
The DRC's civil aviation authority (Autorité de l'Aviation Civile de la République Démocratique du Congo - AAC) was not immediately available for comment.
According to its website, Naweza Airways is based in Kinshasa but advertises itself as a "global airline company" whose services include flight reservations, inflight entertainment, loyalty programmes, and special assistance passenger services.
