Luxair (LG, Luxembourg) ordered two B737-10s from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) with options for two more during the 2024 Farnborough Airshow.
Given the US manufacturer's ongoing MAX production woes and the uncertainty regarding when the MAX 10 will be type certified, no delivery dates for the new order were given.
The European carrier already has four B737-7s and six B737-8s due for delivery alongside four E195-E2s from Embraer, ch-aviation fleets data shows.
"Luxair plans to operate its new B737-10 to offer passengers a minimum of 30-inch seat pitch. In this configuration, the airline can fly up to 213 passengers on routes stretching 5,740 km (3,100 nautical miles), resulting in more capacity and range to capitalise on growing leisure travel," a joint statement said.
At present, Luxair's fleet consists of four B737-700s, two MAX 8s, four B737-800s, and eleven Dash 8-400s. It currently serves 94 destinations in 32 countries spread across Europe and North Africa from its Luxembourg hub.
