JAL - Japan Airlines (JL, Tokyo Haneda) plans to order ten more B787-9s from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) with options for another ten, an announcement made during the 2024 Farnborough Airshow said.

Once the order is finalised, the carrier's Boeing backlog will entail ten B787-9s and twenty-one B737-8s. No further details were disclosed.

Japan Airlines operates a widebody passenger fleet of three A350-1000s, fifteen A350-900s, twenty-five B767-300ERs, thirteen B777-300(ER)s, twenty-three B787-8s, and twenty-two B787-9s. It has a further ten A350-1000s and three -900s due from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac), ch-aviation fleets data shows.
