TGF - Tanzania Government Flight (Dar es Salaam) has purchased a used DHC-8-Q400 from De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (DHC, Toronto Downsview), the Canadian manufacturer announced at the 2024 Farnborough International Air Show on July 22.
This followed an official announcement of De Havilland Canada’s OEM Certified Refurbishment Programme at the air show earlier on July 22, aimed at extending the operational life of the aircraft type, which is well-suited to rugged terrains. The programme sees De Havilland acquiring, upgrading, and re-marketing the aircraft for specific customers and so far has acquired twenty-eight Dash 8-400s.
TGF provides VIP transport for the Tanzanian government. It currently owns a single 32.85 year-old Fokker 50 and a Gulfstream Aerospace G550.
