Pegasus Airlines (PC, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) has no plans to add any widebody aircraft as it still sees ample potential for international and domestic growth with its all-narrowbody fleet, chief executive Güliz Öztürk said during a panel debate at the 2024 Farnborough Air Show.
The Turkish low-cost carrier is currently rolling over to an all-A320neo Family fleet. It has six remaining A320-200s and ten B737-800s (which it extended to around 2029 due to strong demand - it posted a 29% year-to-year passenger number growth in the first quarter of 2024), alongside forty-six A320-200Ns and forty-eight A321-200NX. Its remaining order book with Airbus includes sixty-one A321-200NX out of a total of 155 new-generation aircraft: 150 ordered directly from the manufacturer and five sourced via lessors.
Öztürk said deliveries had been delayed and that for Pegasus, even though the delays amount to just two to three weeks per aircraft, in peak season this is a serious problem.
Pegasus Airlines expects deliveries of all on-order A321neo to conclude in 2029. Öztürk reiterated previous statements that the airline might "top-up" the order with more aircraft to ensure further growth.
