LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) has taken delivery of its first E195-E2, which arrived in Warsaw on July 31, 2024.
According to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, SP-LEA (msn 19020124), a new-build jet in a 136-seat single-class layout, was ferried from Recife with a stop-off at Gran Canaria. It is the first of three E195-E2s to be added through a lease deal with Azorra, with the other two expected before the end of October.
In a press release, LOT CEO Michał Fijoł said that the E2s would be used to "increase the frequency of flights to selected European cities". According to ch-aviation schedules data, SP-LEA's first commercial flight will be from Warsaw to Oslo Gardermoen on August 11.
The Polish airline is in the midst of a fleet expansion drive. In October 2023, it presented its strategy for 2024-2028, with the intention of increasing its fleet size to 110. Then, in June 2024, an additional target of 135 aircraft by 2032 was announced by a government minister.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that alongside this new addition, LOT's fleet is currently made up of twelve B737-8s (with ten to be delivered), six B737-800s, eight B787-8s, seven B787-9s, one (inactive) DHC-8-Q400, five E170s, fifteen E175s, eight E190s, and sixteen E195s. It also wet-leases an A330-900N from Air Belgium (KF, Brussels Charleroi).
