Japanese start-up MicroJet says it will begin international charter flights to short-haul Asian destinations using small business jets from September 2024 after receiving the required approvals from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

MicroJet says it plans to start offering flights to Taiwan, South Korea, and Hong Kong using its 11.77-year-old Cessna 510 entered into the Japanese register as JA123F (msn 510-0428). Since the carrier started operations in October last year, it has operated domestic business and leisure charters.

"We will expand the scope of our business overseas and meet the needs of corporate business travel and special overseas travel," an August 2, 2024, statement from the airline declared.

ADS-B flight tracking data shows JA123F maintains a steady if underwhelming number of flights. The four-passenger aircraft has a cruising range of 2,161 kilometres. MicroJet says the aircraft's small size allows it to achieve low operating costs and offer it to clients at affordable prices.
