Hong Kong Air Cargo (RH, Hong Kong International) has signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with ZTO Express Group which will see the carrier provide aircraft management and cargo charter services for the Shanghai-based logistics company as well as allow Hong Kong Air Cargo to expand its intercontinental routes. The two companies signed the agreement on July 31.

“We are delighted to establish this strategic collaboration with ZTO Express Group," said Hong Kong Air Cargo's president, Clifford Hung. "It not only marks a new beginning for our cooperation but also underscores our joint commitment to improving the quality of air cargo services.”

ZTO is a major Chinese express delivery company with a presence in many international markets and provides delivery services for Alibaba and JD.com, among others. In 2023, ch-aviation reported that it had established ZTO Cargo Airlines in partnership with Hunan Airlines (A6, Changsha Huanghua). However, ZTO Cargo Airlines is yet to acquire any aircraft and begin services.

“This collaboration will enhance our competitiveness in the international logistics field," said ZTO Express Group's president, Renqun Jin.

Hong Kong Air Cargo's scheduled network covers 13 airports in 13 countries. A subsidiary of Hong Kong Airlines, it operates five A330-200Fs. Speaking to ch-aviation earlier this year, Hung said he wanted to increase the fleet to 15 aircraft by 2027.
