The Irish liquidators of GTLK Europe, a former subsidiary of Russia's state-owned GTLK - State Transport Leasing, have placed another of its A319-100s up for sale.
JY-AYC (msn 2762) is an 18.3-year-old aircraft which was last operated by Royal Jordanian, and earlier by East Star Airlines, Chengdu Airlines, and Germania. The aircraft has been parked at Amman Queen Alia since May 2022, when the Western sanctions imposed on Russia made its ongoing operations impossible. It is being sold on an "as is, where is" basis and lease unencumbered. It is currently configured for up to 120 passengers, including 12 business class seats.
The liquidators from Teneo Restructuring Ireland have gradually been placing ex-GTLK Europe assets on the market in a bid to recover funds on behalf of the SPV's non-Russian creditors. Recently they listed five A220-300s which were due to join Red Wings Airlines (WZ, Moscow Domodedovo) but were never delivered to Russia.
"We continue to progress the realisation of GTLK Europe assets in line with the sanctions regime and will launch further aircraft for sale in an efficient manner in the coming months," joint liquidators Damien Murran and Julian Moroney said in a statement.
GTLK objects to the ongoing liquidation and has secured a ruling in a Russian court "banning" the disposal of the assets. The ruling has no effect outside Russia and possibly also countries aligned with it.
