KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) took delivery of its first A321-200NX on Tuesday, August 27, after PH-AXA (msn 11895) was ferried from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Amsterdam Schiphol ahead of its induction into service in mid-September.

The ch-aviation fleets module shows that PH-AXA is the first of four A321-200NX KLM will add, all dry-leased from CDB Aviation. PH-AXB (msn 12144) has been seen in Hamburg but has not yet conducted a test flight.

KLM will deploy PH-AXA into service on September 15 from Amsterdam Schiphol to each of Copenhagen Kastrup, Berlin Brandenburg International, and Stockholm Arlanda with London Heathrow, Manchester International, Paris CDG, Prague Václav Havel, and Vienna to follow later.

Marjan Rintel, president and CEO of KLM, said the arrival of the A321neo marks the start of the company's rollover from its Boeing B737 fleet.

KLM’s fleet comprises 179 aircraft, including one A321-200NX, six A330-200s, five A330-300s, six B737-700s, one B737-700(BBJ), thirty-one B737-800s, five B737-900s, fifteen B777-200ERs, sixteen B777-300ERs, ten B787-10s, thirteen B787-9s, seventeen E175s (wet-leased from KLM cityhopper), thirty-five E190s (wet-leased from KLM cityhopper, Eastern Airways and German Airways), and eighteen E195-E2s (wet-leased from KLM cityhopper).
