Icelandair (FI, Reykjavik Keflavik) will take delivery of its first A321-200NX(LR) in November 2024, with TF-IAA (msn 12213) recently rolling out of Airbus’s paint shop at Hamburg Finkenwerder.

“Next up in the production process is installing the engines, seats, and entertainment system. It will then undergo test flights operated by Airbus, and Icelandair will take delivery of the aircraft in November. The company’s fleet will grow by a total of four Airbus A321neo(LR)s by the summer of 2025,” the company summarised in a statement.

The ch-aviation fleets module shows Icelandair is set to take seven A321neo(LR)s and thirteen A321-200NY(XLR)s. The latter type is due for delivery in 2029, chief executive Bogi Nils Bogason told ch-aviation earlier this year.

Icelandair will power its new Airbus A320neo family aircraft with Pratt & Whitney PW1100 GTF engines.

Icelandair’s fleet currently comprises 41 in-house aircraft - seventeen B737-8s, four B737-9s, thirteen B757-200s, one B757-200(PCF), two B757-300s, three B767-300ERs, and one B767-300ER(BCF), as well as three DHC-8-Q200s and three DHC-8-Q400s sourced from subsidiary Flugfélag Íslands.
