The CEO of Indian start-up Fly91 (IC, Goa Dabolim) says he'll stick with operating ATR72-600s and intends to upsize from the current two aircraft to six by March 31, 2025, according to CNBC-TV18.
"We have two aircraft flying, based out of Goa," CEO Manoj Chacko told the TV channel. "We will be inducting two more aircraft in the next couple of months, and by the end of the financial year we expect to have six aircraft in the fleet. Our business plan is built around these six aircraft. We currently service seven cities and operate around ten city pairs. The idea is to strengthen the fleet, induct more aircraft, and increase the frequency of our services."
The pure play regional operator launched scheduled flights in mid-March. Tapping into the Indian government's regional connectivity scheme known as UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik), it offers last-mile connections into domestic tier-two and three cities. The ch-aviation schedules module shows Fly91 connecting Goa Mopa to Agatti Island, Bengaluru International, Hyderabad International, and Jalgaon; Malvan to Bengaluru and Hyderabad; and Pune to Jalgaon. Its two in-service ATRs are VT-FIB (msn 1385) and VT-FIC (msn 1364), both on lease from DAE Capital.
"Our focus is on a single type of aircraft operation," added Chacko. "We are committed to the ATR72-600 aircraft and believe sticking to our core fleet is key to being a successful business model. While we may partner with others, Fly91 will remain an ATR72-600 operator."
