Xejet (4U, Lagos) has expanded its business scope with the addition of scheduled operations to its air operator's certificate (AOC) and plans to offer all-business-class flights using 24-seater CRJ200s.
CEO Emmanuel Iza informed ch-aviation that the initial plan is for daily business travel flights between Lagos and Abuja. The launch date has not yet been finalised.
"We're working to finalise dates; we will know in the next few days," he said. "The long-term plan is to connect Lagos with Kano, Abuja, and Port Harcourt," he added.
Xejet currently operates two 24-seater all-business class CRJ200s - 5N-XEJ (msn 7915) and 5N-XEL (msn 7975) - which Iza said are fully owned by the company. According to ch-aviation research, the carrier is currently negotiating with Regional One to buy an additional CRJ200ER, msn 7931, to be registered in Nigeria as 5N-XEK and join the fleet towards the end of October.
The business specialist secured an AOC for non-scheduled charter operations in 2022. The rest of the fleet comprises three E145s, with another of the latter type due, according to ch-aviation fleets data.
