Challenge Group says it has completed the P2F conversion of two B767-300ER(BDSF)s and placed them with its Challenge Airlines MT (X6, Malta International) subsidiary the fleet of which now numbers four.
9H-CAD (msn 30301) is 25.19 years old while 9H-CAH (msn 29435) is 26.10 years old. Both are owned by the Challenge Group. They were converted into freighters by JAT Tehnika at Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport under the Israel Aerospace Industries’s STC. They have a cargo capacity of approximately 52 tonnes or 400 cubic meters. The first is currently active, with its last flight being from Tel Aviv Ben Gurion to Liège on October 14, according to ADS-B data. Meanwhile, the latter has been stored in Liège since October 1.
This additional capacity has enabled the Challenge Group to launch a new service to Delhi International in early October, adding to the three existing weekly frequencies to Mumbai International in India. Additionally, these freighters free up capacity on the group’s B747 fleet, “allowing for increased long-haul destinations and enhanced connectivity between Europe, the Far East and the US,” it said.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows Challenge Airlines IL (5C, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) has a fleet of three in-house freighters - one B747-400ERF, one B747-400FSCD, and one B767-300ER(BDSF). Challenge Airlines BE (X7, Liège) has one B747-400(BCF), one B747-400ERF, and one B747-400FSCD.
