Emirates (EK, Dubai International) has placed a firm order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for five additional B777-200Fs, though the delivery dates have not yet been disclosed. The airline has now been confirmed as the previously undisclosed buyer of several B777Fs included in Boeing's public order data from September 2024.
This new announcement adds to Emirates' order of five B777-200Fs earlier this year, as well as four undelivered aircraft ordered in 2022, which are due in 2025. In total, the airline now has fourteen B777-200Fs on order, with plans to operate 21 of the type in the coming years.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Emirates currently operates twelve B777-200Fs alongside four wet-leased B747Fs - three B747-400(BDSF)s (two wet-leased from AirACT (9T, Istanbul Atatürk) and one from Aerotranscargo (F5, Chisinau International)), and one B747-400(BCF), also leased from the Moldavian operator. Emirates also has P2F-conversion commitments with Israel Aerospace Industries (Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) covering ten B777-300ERs sourced from its fleet of 121 aircraft of the type, although none have yet completed the process.
Last year, Emirates revealed plans to order new-generation widebody freighters, either A350Fs or B777-8Fs, by 2027.
