Air India (AI, Delhi International) has cancelled around 60 flights to the United States between now and the end of the year due to delays having widebodies returned from MRO facilities and other supply chain issues.

"Due to the delayed return of some aircraft from heavy maintenance and supply chain constraints resulting in a temporary reduction in operating fleet, Air India regrets that a small number of flights have been cancelled between now and end-December," the airline's statement reads.

The Times of India has compiled a list of the cancelled flights, which particularly impact Delhi. The cancelled services include:

Air India's widebody fleet includes six A350-900s, eight B777-200LRs, nineteen B777-300ERs, and twenty-seven B787-8s. However, the ch-aviation fleets module notes that five B777-300ERs and five B787-8s are on the ground for various reasons. Air India says the delays returning these aircraft to service are "beyond our control."

Among a much larger order, Air India is awaiting the delivery of twenty A350-1000s, fourteen A350-900s, ten B777-9s, and twenty-seven B787-9s.

Indian news outlets also say that Air India has also been either cancelling or rescheduling domestic flights for operational reasons.
