Compass Cargo Airlines (HQ, Sofia) debuted scheduled cargo flights connecting Liège, via Sofia, and Zhengzhou, marking its entry into the Chinese market.

The first flight was operated with the carrier’s sole B747-400FSCD, LZ-CJA (msn 26559), on November 1, 2024. The airline has since been flying daily, although it has not published a schedule for the route. It did not respond to ch-aviation’s request for comment regarding the customers for the flights.

Compass Cargo Airlines secured traffic rights to operate to Zhengzhou, Shanghai Pudong, and Shenzhen in March 2024. Prior to the launch of the new scheduled route to China, it deployed its only widebody freighter mainly between Liège and various destinations in the United States, with occasional charters to other destinations, including China.

The Bulgarian cargo specialist also operates four B737-800(SF)s on European routes, of which two are under contract with DHL Express operating out of Leipzig/Halle.
