Volato (TMB, Houston Hobby) has retired its only G280 and Cessna Citation Bravo aircraft, as well as the only HA-420 in the standard HondaJet variant from its Part 135 fleet, ch-aviation research has revealed.
The G280, N280CX (msn 2282) was the first of four aircraft of the type that the struggling operator was initially planning to add by 2025 as part of its fleet diversification strategy. It was ferried to Kinston on August 30, 2024, and then operated a test flight around the airport on September 26, still under Volato's 'TMB' code. It has not been active since then and was no longer on the operator's Part 135-certified fleet as of early October.
The operator's only Bravo, N904MA (msn 550-1104), was last active on November 8, flying from Austin-Bergstrom International to Orlando Executive and then Tampa International. It operated the flights under the 'TMB' code.
In turn, Volato's last standard-version HA-420, N311HJ (msn 42000118), was ferried from Kinston to Greensboro Piedmont Triad International on November 5, 2024. The 6.6-year-old aircraft had previously been parked at Kinston since September 21, following an arrival from Atlanta Dekalb-Peachtree.
None of the three aircraft have yet been added to another operator's Part 135 fleet.
Volato's Part 135 fleet currently comprises one King Air B200GT, one Hawker 750, and fifteen HondaJets in APMG, Elite II, Elite S, and (Elite S) variants.
Meanwhile, the operator said in a stock market filing that it reached a settlement with Sunpeak Holdings Corporation on November 4. Volato will sell to Sunpeak "certain outstanding payables" between designated vendors totalling USD4.7 million. Sunpeak will exchange this amount for a settlement payable in common shares of Volato. Volato will additionally issue 100,000 freely tradeable shares to Sunpeak.
As a part of its restructuring, Volato sold the management of its fleet to FlyExclusive (JRE, Kinston). On November 7, empty leg flights offered by Volato's in-house broker app, Vaunt, became available on FlyExclusive platforms.
