Avia Solutions Group has placed a firm order for forty B737-8 aircraft with an additional 40 options directly from Boeing to support the growth of its ACMI-focused airlines in the 2030s.
The Ireland-registered, Lithuania-based holding said that the deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2030. It did not reveal the allocation to specific operators. It is the first-ever direct order for any aircraft placed by Avia Solutions Group or any of its subsidiary carriers.
The group said that while leisure-focused passenger carriers will be the most likely customers for the aircraft once they are in service, they were not ordered with any specific airline contract in mind. "We will be ready to serve any airlines on demand," a spokesperson confirmed to ch-aviation.
The holding owns or partners in eleven passenger AOCs, including Avion Express (and Avion Express Malta), SmartLynx Airlines (including SmartLynx Airlines Malta and SmartLynx Airlines Estonia), KlasJet, AirExplore, Ascend Airways, BBN Airlines Indonesia, BBN Airlines Türkiye, and Skytrans. Additional AOCs in Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines are under certification.
ASG's combined fleet of around 220 aircraft currently includes fourteen B737-8s operated by SmartLynx Airlines Malta (13) and Ascend Airways (one).
