JCAS Airways (Osaka Kansai) has raised another JPY200 million yen (USD1.3 million) in funding in the final close of its pre-series A round through a third-party allotment of new shares. It brings the start-up's total funding to approximately JPY650 million (USD4.2 million).

"Following investment from a company in Toyama, we have now received investment from a company in San'in," a November 11 statement reads.

JCAS says it intends to connect Osaka Kansai to Toyama and Yonago with an ATR72-600 and commence services in the first half of 2026. In September, ch-aviation reported on JCAS raising JPY300 million (USD1.9 million).

"The funds raised this time will be used for equipment leasing, system development, personnel recruitment," the statement added.

Singapore-based lessor Avation has confirmed signing a twelve-year lease agreement with JCAS Airways to supply its first ATR72. The aircraft is due to be delivered in October 2025.

"We are pleased to confirm the addition of JCAS Airways to our customer list," said Avation CEO Jeff Chatfield. The lessor has ordered ten ATR72-600s under a long-term purchase contract with ATR - Avions de Transport Régional, and the JCAS lease sees the first of these placed with a customer.
