Levu Air Cargo (LVU), a Brazilian cargo airline start-up, has received its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) as a charter operator from Brazil's civil aviation authority, (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil - ANAC), under RBAC 121 regulations.

The AOC was granted on November 7, 2024, allowing Levu to operate non-scheduled domestic cargo flights with A321-200(PCF) PS-LVU (msn 775). The company’s legal name is Levu Transporte Aéreo e Logística de Cargas S.A.

Levu Air Cargo is set to collaborate with DHL Worldwide Express. In May, Levu announced that DHL would invest BRL480 million reais (USD 83 million), while Levu would contribute BRL530 million (USD 91.7 million) to lease four aircraft (two A321-200(PCF)s and two A330-300(P2F)s) with a combined monthly capacity of 10,000 tons.

The Brazilian carrier said in a press release that DHL will receive priority for space on these flights, while Levu will market any additional cargo space.

PS-LVU, Levu’s first aircraft, last operated on November 12, on a flight from São Paulo Viracopos to Recife, ADS-B data shows. The 26.85-year-old aircraft is owned and managed by Cross Ocean Partners. The company has also reserved the registration PR-LVU for an A330-300, EI-HDN (msn 1146), currently stored at Châteauroux Déols Marcel Dassault and set to undergo conversion. It has not yet reserved the registrations for the remaining two airframes, ch-aviation research has revealed.

ch-aviation reached out to Levu Air Cargo for comment on when it will begin its charter operations but it was not immediately available.

Levu’s management team includes Lucas Menero da Silva as accountable executive and André Cordeiro de Mello Pessoa as director of operations.
