Florida-headquartered Rayan Air has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) to lease land at Bahrain International for a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility. The parties signed the LOI at last week's Bahrain International Airshow 2024.

Rayan Air's chief pilot and president, Captain Hani Shamsan, said the venture was designed to meet the increasing demand for professional and cost-efficient MRO services in the Middle East region. "Our focus will be on providing specialised maintenance solutions for A320 and B737 fleets, catering specifically to the needs of airlines in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the wider region," he said.

BAC CEO Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah said the LOI was part of the airport's ongoing efforts to improve its infrastructure and services. “Our strategic collaboration with Rayan Air is a significant milestone in our continuous efforts to enhance Bahrain's aviation sector," he said.

Rayan Air owns and operates a fleet of large and small cabin business jets, including three Challenger 850LRs flying in the United States, three based in Bahrain, one Challenger 601-3A flying in Africa, and one Saudi Arabia-based Hawker Hawker 400.
