Tasman Cargo Airlines (HJ, Sydney Kingsford Smith) has applied to Australia's International Air Services Commission (IASC) for unlimited cargo frequencies on the Australia-Hong Kong country pair and says it will cease using wet-leased B777 freighters on the sector next year.

The November 14 filing notes the recent announcement of unlimited cargo traffic rights on the country pair, and the airline says it wants its permit for seven weekly frequencies revoked in favour of unlimited rights.

Tasman Cargo operates scheduled international cargo services on behalf of DHL International and ad hoc domestic and international cargo charters. Its fleet consists of three B767-300Fs, but it also uses wet-leased B777 freighters as required. The airline began flying to Hong Kong International on behalf for DHL in April using a B777-200F wet-leased from Kalitta Air (K4, Detroit Willow Run).

This week's filing notes that in the short term, Tasman Cargo Airlines will continue to use a combination of B777-200LRF, B777-300(ERSF), and B767-300F equipment on the country pair before beginning to rely exclusively on its own B767 freighters sometime in 2025.
