Royal Jet (ROJ, Abu Dhabi International) has opened a new base at Kuala Lumpur Subang airport in Malaysia, stationing a single Global 5000 business jet there.
The jet, A6-RJD (msn 9621), is configured to seat up to 13 passengers and is 10.7 years old. It was relocated on November 5, following a flight from Abu Dhabi International.
“This move is in response to growing demand for private charter flights in Asia Pacific following a strong economic recovery from the pandemic and increased foreign investment in the region,” Royal Jet said in a statement.
At a recent Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) event in Dubai, Shane O'Hare, president and CEO of Royal Jet, revealed the company’s plans to expand its network of bases in the Middle East, alongside increasing its portfolio of managed aircraft.
The company operates a fleet of ten UAE-registered aircraft, comprising eight Boeing Business Jet B737-700(BBJ)s and two Global 5000s. Additionally, Royal Jet manages a B787-8(BBJ) registered in Guernsey and three San Marino-registered Bombardier Business Aircraft, including one Global 6000 and two Global 7500s.
Royal Jet provides services including aircraft management, charter, leasing, medical evacuation flights, brokerage, flight support, maintenance, repair and CAMO, aircraft acquisition and sales, and VIP aviation consulting. It also offers fixed-base operations (FBO) services at Abu Dhabi International.
